I have a 1999 solara SE 5 spd. I have done some research on the supercharger. It seems to provide more power- but not much more speed. what information can you provide me to clarify this.? ( ie difference in times 0- 60, 1/4 mile etc)

There are many variables to consider before you can say how much of an increase in speed you gain but, the TRD SC is #1 bolt on performance increasing item for the Solara. The #2 item would be the JP Performance Headers and Y-Pipe.

Buy the SC you will not regret it!!

I would say 0.5 to 1 second reduction in 0-60 or 1/4 mile, depending on driver skill, air temp, other mods, wheel weight, blah blah blah.

Most members of the forum have not been able to stop with just the S/C, so be ready to spend more money than you think.

I would say #3 performance enhancer is a smaller pulley. Read up on the posts, there are some horror stories that go with the smaller pulleys.

You should check out the scion turbo kits.... lots of power on stock internals for stage 1 and 2. Its listed in the boost section.

I would say the third upgrade would be Jim's fuel upgrade before a smaller pulley. If you put a smaller pulley, you will probably run lean.

www.scionspeed.com with stage 1 on stock internals, they made 350+ whp and about the same wtq and ran 12.5 @ 14 psi. I dont think the motor is capable of handling that or much more for a prolonged period of time but I think the fact that the motor was able to handle that much power on a completely stock motor is impressive in itself

can you put a supercharger on a car with over 120k on the engine? or is it to late to do anything serious to it?

I dont think you can just get it for 800. Get me if Im wrong but putting the S/C on, would that mean I have to get different type of sparkplugs and upgrade the fuel rail or id screw up the motor right? It cant be that easy of a simply bolt on and go right? You gotta tune that beast up..

Also how bad are you guys gas milleage getting with the s/c? I just have intake and catback and I see the gas going down allot more already.
