Superchargers - how long are they good for?

Ok guys, i did a search and did not find exactly what i was looking for so before anyone deletes/closes this thread, pls read 1st ... (thank you)

A million things came up when i searchd for "supercharger" ... and nothing that really helped (if i missed it, pls call me an idiot and show me LOL). What I want to know is, what is the life span of a supercharger itself. How long are they good for? I'm considering buying a used one and would like to know whether that's a good thing or not. Thank you guys in advance.

i have asked this question a LONG time ago, but it seems so far no one in this forum have problems with the supercharger itself at this point

yes, they are durable, i do not know of anyone that has ever had a malfunction with these.

however it would not harm if you do a fluid change on the blower before you install it.

From what I understand, the supercharger in it's stock low boost form will actually make your car more efficient and last longer.

I could be wrong about the second part though.

I've got over 36,000 miles on mine so far. No problems as long as I make sure my wire harness is connected. No more CEL :D

probably not 15lbs of boost, i don't think the 1mz block can handle that, even with all the upgrades. i believe someone on the board is running 9psi with all those modifications you are talking about.

This should end the discussion:

There has not been enough testing or results to show that the blowers don't degrade over time, but so far so good, a few members have already racked up high mileage with no problems.

Even with forged internals and lower compression you can't handle 15+ psi because we can not us an intercooler with the SC. Plus the Eaton Roots M62 blower is too small to push that kinda boost.

The SC will not make your engine last longer, but it has yet to prove to be detrimental to the engine
