I'll be looking into it. Great find! May be the solution for a lot of these guys blowing knock sensors. The sensor on the left of the picture looks very similar to our Solara's knock sensors. I'll also keep you posted when I find out anything new to this.

That looks pretty promising! I had read somewhere that the MR2 guys were looking into solutions for the knock sensor problem, and had discovered alternative sensors. I'll be curious to see if Rizal, or anyone else, gives them a try. I think I'm still going to go for the rewire solution, at least for the time being.

www.mr2ownersclub.com do a search for a user by the name of "overboostvr4"...you will find PLENTY of information about his 448lbs of torque & ~400+horse power 1MZ-FE supercharged engine in his 1991 Toyota MR2. He just won the Sports Compact Car street challenge fwiw. anyways, he posted a lot of info about his setup and thought some of you would find it helpful since it's the same v6 engine. peace..

You know it! 300hp to the wheels alone was from 9psi supercharger. The rest was from Giggle Gas. . Before you get too happy, Brad admittedd he was right on the hairy edge AND replacing pistons is easy for him. Before adding the nitrous, he beefed up the bottom end. -JoeB

An update on the rewire solution. I just did this a couple of days ago, and no more CE light. Apparently, the #1 knock sensor is in a location where it picks up supercharger and other sounds and interprets them as knock. The car is still not as smooth in the lower rpms as I'd like, but has serious power at 3000k and beyond. Finally, I can enjoy my car!

Another thing to keep in mind before buying the pulley is Brad brought his compression down to 9.15:1 before 9psi and he has a very healthy fuel system.

BTW, have you seen his latest numbers? 474hp and 534tq! That is INSANE! -JoeB

A combination of heads from Jim@ForeignAffairs and thicker head gasket with ARP studs. -JoeB
