OK, this is why CAI + supercharger dont work. You run lean cuz you're sucking in too much air and your knock sensor doesnt read it right and thinks your running lean (which you probably are). So just get a K and N drop in filter throw it in your stock box and get the pulley.

I have the cai on and I've never had any problems with it or my knock sensors. Although each car is different, some people have blown a sensor with the same setup, it just depends. I've had pretty good luck. When I took my car to get it dyno'd, with the fuel pump, injectors, fuel filter, and Jim's Fuel rail Mod...my car was running really rich prior to tuning. Just wanted to give you a different opinion on what other's have done. Up to you though.

I saw a couple SG members at the SoCal meet with S/C and Injen CAI (at least one was true CAI - not the short ram) - they said they had not problems.

I'm pretty sure there are other intake's besides Injen, don't know off hand what they are, but you can try ebay or just get it off a reputable site. Then contact UPFD for the extension for the Injen.

i am running a k&N filter on a weapon R short ram. With a 6psi pulley i blew my knock sensor after getting some gas i think inferior to my normal stuff. I wired both my knock sensor inputs to the front one and have been cool ever since. Even running better than before. I always add race gas to my tank for added detonation insurance after reading about all the problems the 1mz has. You can probably run 7 lbs tuned properly. but you may break a piston ring land. They are really weak on the stock pistons causing them to break off when cylinder pressure gets too high/hot. This happened on my stock engine before supercharging. I now have forged pistons in place. So just be careful after you turn the boost up and make sure your running closer to rich than lean. get a wideband and dont keep in to the floor too long and youll be ok. later
