s/c on high mileage engine

Lol yeah swapping internals isnt necessary
just make sure your car is running strong
do some compression tests on the pistons, make sure you dont have any bad rings, also make sure to check the amount of oil blow by you may or may not be having, if there is a lot of blow by you may want to hold off until you can at least replace internals with oem spec. Also before I had mine boosted I had a problem with valve seal leakage, so I had a valve job done to my car ( replaced all valves with brand new OEM ones and replaced all valve seals ).

I had a bad piston ring at 4psi and bumped to 5.5 ( didnt know my piston ring was bad ). I also had massive amounts of oil blow by ( refilling oil every 2k-2.5k mi ) but assumed an SC engine would eat oil like crazy. Shortly after my tune on 5.5 psi I blew my engine from oil starvation.

No problem if your engine is in a good condition.

Some tips

Must have:
-Don't go the cheapway
-Please read the post here!
-When you buy a used supercharger, change the oil and check all the bearings.
-Drill (if needed) an extra hole (boost side) in the supercharger before install, so you can connect a temp. gauge/boost gauge/water injection etc..if you want later on. (you can plug it with a short screw)
-check if every hose, gasket, egr tube etc. is with the used s/c.
-buy a apexi or something like that.
-Buy an a/f gauge (not small band)
-Change sparkplugs...easy acces when you install the supercharger

Nice to have:
-relocate 1 of the knocksensors...the change of killing them is big and it is not funny to uninstall the s/c to replace the knocksensors
-And think about bigger (supra) injectors and full pump. (read the post about it)
-y-pipe 2.5 inch

AND DON'T BE AFRAID is going to be fine and we can help!

My english not so good...if you have questions no problem

Agreed. Like in my case- a Buick

Youll be fine, I think there are a couple in the FS section now. Enjoy boost! :)

like i said do not go the cheap way and dont be surprised if all together for everything you end up paying 4-6 grand because if you want it done right and u want it to last it takes money money money if you cheap out ur not saving anything and u will realize this later.
