carfaxing couldn't hurt...although I thought they bought strictly from private party. Could be wrong though, an auction is a nice place to pick up a decent car....that's where my mechanic got mine anyway.

I just tried ATrader "any Distance" and came up empty...keep lookin you'll find it.

thanks man..yeah i have been trying autotrader and ebay several times a day...my salesman called me and said that he is waiting to hear back from the car auction...fingers crossed!

well i did a carfax and it says that it's in cedar rapids iowa which is about an hour from me...it says titled, but nothing about if it was a personal title or not...59 car dealers in cedar rapids.....what to do?

so depressed right now, just found out that the car was sold last month at a dealer about an hour away! i doubt that they will give me any info on the car about who they sold it to!

Can't you run a "VIN SEARCH" through some "service"... ?

Perhaps that is a law enforcement function, but I believe there are ways to do it on the net...

Do you have some document (old ins. records, etc... registrations...) with the VIN on it?

Just a thought...

BTW, I'm pretty SURE the dealer has this capability... but they MAY not be allowed to disclose the info... on the OTHER hand, the NET doesn't CARE about the specifics of such "rules" alot of the time...
