depends

Postby trd4life » Mon Jul 17, 2006 10:56 am

it REALLY depends on your other mods. I dont see an exhaust listed in your sig. The exra 1.5 psi will be minimal with no exhaust mods, maybe 10whp

mods

Postby trd4life » Mon Jul 17, 2006 12:41 pm

the stock manifolds and the y pipe r the huge restriction. i would at least get a high flow y pipe bent at an exhaust shop.

i was reading in the ssftc and it said to street tune your vehicle before you dyno tune it.....what??? that manual is a foreign language to me! so does that mean that i shouldn't get the car dyno tuned?

What they mean is to get it in the ballpark by doing pulls on the street and using your ear to tune. I would rather have a great street tune than a great dyno tune, but its much harder to nail street tuning because of oll the different factors the street has compared to the dyno which is pretty much constant

okay man i understand that! my car runs pretty darn good with the 5.5psi pulley on there i just installed it lastnight...even though i'm sure that it's running lean...i might get a little hesitation around 2200rpms very little.....i am just getting discouraged though because i thought that my car has alot of mods but now that i have gone to the 2.9 pulley it looks like i have to have a buttload of other things...ie...y pipe, headers, scan tool, wideband....does it ever stop....please tell me something encouraging! can i run the 2.9 pulley and just take it to the dyno and have it tuned and stop there for now? maybe a y pipe later on? or am i pushing the envelope?

Headers and y pipe are really the only thing u need. I need them 2 but they are high as hell so i just got a nice y bent. Hopefully a used set or 2 will spring up

but can i run the 2.9 pulley without those for now? after the dyno of course....if you were me would u leave the pulley on and take it to a dyno shop so that they can figure it out...if you were me? do you think that they will need the ssftc software at all? sorry for all the ?'s

yeah so i called one dyno in the area and they say that they have never heard of ssftc and said that they would have to learn as they go....so i called another one and they said that they have never heard of it either, but they could figure it out no problem...hopefully they are quicker than me...$100/hour is huge!!!! so i have an appointment on friday @ 2! i sure wish that i could do it myself!
