I'm about to order the CP-E intake for my gen 1.5 solara. I'm gonna get the tuneable one. Do you all think that this is gonna put out as much power as they "claim" on their website? Also I was having problems with my injen running my system a bit lean, do you think that the cpe will make the car do the same? I understand its a short ram and for the money i think its a good upgrade. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

i already contacted RPM to see if it was safe to put the CP-E intake on an S/C'ed application, and they said it wasn't since they haven't found anyone to test it yet.

try and contact them again though, to see if they have someone now...

I would think that the tuneable one would be perfect for the intake on something boosted. Its already got the ECU tinkering built in.

I've contacted them before. I'm like 30 minutes away but they weren't too eager after the lack of support with their NA intakes. Jon. p.s. if they've changed their minds Im willing to work with them.

I'm sure it's safe, you just may have to do some tuning. I think their fuel map is set for a 1MZ N/A automatic. So if you're anything else you're probably going to have to make some adjustments. I've been running mitrous with mine and haven't pulled a CEL to this day. Your best bet would be calling Josh from CP-e to see what he thinks about it. He knows how the fuel map was set up etc, and I'm sure he could point you in the proper direction to tune with his tunable programmer.

Another thing I've been meaning to bring up. Do you guys think their little tunable version works just like an AFC that you'd plug into your OBD-II? I was wondering why it would really be much different since it's all changing your fuel map using your ECU. Eh, I dunno tho. Hope you get a nice setup going with the CPE and SC.

Yeah I know im running way too lean. I need new injectors to fix that issue im hoping. The other only issue I have right now is seeing soo many people hitting these numbers and blowing their motor after so many said it was safe. I need to to run safe at this level without issues.

From what I know.
I'm not a pro but I think I got the pattern right.

the fuel map is set with the RPM on the Y axis and volts on X axis
The volts go from 0 to 5 (it's the intensity you hit the throttle)
Then the RPM is the RPM , you know

So you want a 14.7 air/fuel ratio on low RPM and low volts
You want 13.7 (my estimate) air/fuel ratio on high and low volts
About the same on low RPM and high voltage
Now the performance zone, "high" RPM (starting at 4400) and high voltage (around 3.7 = 75% throttle) around 13, I would put 12.7 air/fuel ratio.

I did some dyno runs and there I learn so many things about it.
Again why don't you call CP-e or a an other tuning professional ?

I told them i'd do the tuning if they'd hook it up with a discount. They said no WAY. I was kind of sad, but I dont wanna be the first to do this. So i'm waiting for someone else with more knowledge to do it first. lol So anyone up for the task?
