Anyone know where I can find something like this? I'm really looking for something comparable to what the SAFC2 does or better...just a volt reading. I know these usually aren't the best for accuracy, but I like to keep an eye on it during long trips or hot days.

I thought you had the SAFCII?

Ha, I knew that was coming.

I've been trying to make the cp-e intake work with the SAFC2, but I don't think it's possible (w/o hours on the dyno). I may ditch the SAFC2 and upgrade to the tuneable cp-e MAF customizer. I know it's rediculous, but I don't want to lose my knock sensor readings. I could keep the SAFC2 just for that, but that's one expensive unit to just read knock voltages (and not that well).

If it's not possible, no sweat...just seeing what's out there.

it's possible, I'm sure...you can always just find out what kind of voltage/amperage is coming from the wire and get a volt meter gauge that'll work with it- just go to an electronics store

I think that would work...

or this?

http://performanceparts.com/part.php?partID=185551

for those prices, I would just keep the SAFC

Get a WideBand instead of a knock sensor gauge.
You would be able to get off the gas fast enough to prevent damage.
I'd ditch the CP-e customizer and use the SAFC2. Just play with the fuel settings and you should be able to get it to start and then go from there with a wide band.
When you look at the maps for the CP-e all they do is pull fuel at high RPM.
Search and you should be able to find a map of what I'm talking about.
But I don't know why it won't run without it at low RPM. I can't figure that one out.
Got Boost?? :sweet:

I spoke with Josh from cp-e concerning this a few times, and from what I can tell the tps values have been altered at idle in order for the MAF to stay happy in the larger intake tubing. I don't think these values are shown on any of cp-e's maps. Like you said Joe, the only thing altered on the maps is the high rpm values which would have nothing to do with car actually starting. The .75" increase in the diameter of the intake screws the MAF up so bad that the car barely turns over before it dies. I've even tried to pull a bit of fuel out at low rpms, but that doesn't work either.

Dawgz, my safc2 is working quite well at pulling fuel from the designated rpms like it was designed to do. Unfortunately, I don't think this is a matter of air trimming.

to be perfectly honest, I think that with a supercharged application, you're better off with a true CAI setup, as in the end, the CPE is still shortram and it sucks in hot air from the engine bay (even with the heat shield)

but of course, that is up to you to decide...but I'm sure that the money from selling the CPE can go to some other really good use as well ;)

Thanks for all of the input guys. I'm still unsure which route to go at this point, and if my cp-e ever sells it may change the direction.

James, those examples are interesting. Both options look viable, but it may take an adapter like ATS's GM kit to make the sensor fit, plus I'd need to do the KS rewire, which is no biggie.
