sc'er belt!

sc'er belt!

Postby shocar4 » Fri Dec 28, 2007 11:14 am

i know that this has been discussed a million times, but i am running stock 4psi boost and plan on staying there for a while, but i am going to install a new sc'er belt as i do all my maintanance this winter...my question is can i go with the Dayco polycog belt #5060880 for the 5.5 pulley with my stock 4psi pulley or should i just get the 5060885? just trying to get away with having to buy a different belt later on if i decide to go to 5.5 down the road! will the 880 even fit with my stock pulley? ps...i have the earlier style idler plate...ie no dynamic tensioner!

I think you want to run a 88.2" belt. I had the 4 psi pulley with the non-dynamic tensioner setup and the dayco 88.5" belt was too long- I couldnt get enough tension on it for some reason. I went to an auto parts store and got either an 88.1 or 88.2" belt (I think it was for a jeep application) and that fit perfectly. Just ask for a 6 groove belt as close to 88" as possible, but no smaller- i think I bought an 87.7" belt as well and it was too short- but would work for 5.5 psi I believe. I can check the exact belt lengths when i get back to my apartment for you.

Good luck!
