supercharger for Avalon 3.0 VVT-i?

Postby Nutty101 » Sat Oct 15, 2005 12:22 am

Don't forget that the intake on the VVTI avalon motor is alot different than the solara non vvti. Quite a few different things I might add and it would require some changes to the wires. Your best bet is get someone to build a custom mount for a pro-charger or something and run some pipe in.

SC V6 wrote:VVti is similar to Vtec, and the problem with that is that at higher RPM's the camshafts slide over and make the duration for exhaust and intake greater... they overlap a bit which is what causes the delima for boosting a Vtec or VVTi... the overlaping of the intake and exhaust duration makes it damn near impossible to hold any boost in the cylinder

In fact VVT-i is different from VTEC...VTEC control both exhaust and intake valve..VVT-i only intake valve. VTEC is engaged only at a specific RPM...VVT-i is permanently engaged and verify if you ask for power or for fuel economy.

VTEC-i and double VVT-i (like in 2GR-FSE) are the only "identical" system that Honda and Toyota are "sharing"

If I'm wrong just ell me cuz I read a lot about it...I just want to learn what is version. :)
