5.5 w/slicks quarter mile times?

I really want to try out 6 psi, but i just dont have the balls for it. I've heard lots and lots of mixed things such as maxing out the injectors and starving fuel, blowin trannies. I'm not tryin to deal with all of that. But i think what i'm gonna end up doing is getting custom headers to a straight pipe. We'll see how it goes. I needs lots of cash for that

invest another 500 (contact level 10) and get a torque converter. That will eliminate at least .5 off your 1/4 time. 8)

Hold up, if its an Automatic, why would you need slicks?????? I mean, honestly go with the Nittos 555R or even Azenis. I dont see the point, the only reason I say that is bcuz at the track I launch my car at 4,700 RPM with 55-60% throttle on my SAFC and i spin enough to grip at 5,500 using BFG tires. Now if its automatic, how the hell are you spinning so much that you need slicks? If you actually are spinning that much, damn, much props to you. The best time I've done is a 14.6, but untuned and at Palmdale, which is notorious for the tracks being at such high elevation.

im actuality, I believe the slicks are even slowing you down. And here's why, slicks grip so much that if they aren't launched at high RPMs, they throw your RPMs significantly down, as far as using all of the rpm range resulting in significant lag. Using, AA rated or even A rated tires, will cause you to spin initially but enough to make your RPMs jump higher, so when you actually do manage to grip you are utilizing most of your torque, which is where our blowers are most useful. Our car suck in low end, but at top end there is no stopping us. There's my two cents.

I've seen a lot of htem running low 14's with mild mods. I think a video of that would be priceless and would make my life complete. haha anyways thanks for th help

We must not be thinking of the same Z28s, but a camaro Z28 is capable of breaking into the 13s stock.

You will have a real hard time beating one of them.

My friends Trans am WS6 ran a 13.7 with just an exhaust.

Best of luck on your modding though. Be sure to do it right the first time (supporting fuel mods) or else you'll be redoing it again.
