Took the plunge!

well i finally went for it and put in my order for a 04 red sle v6. it was a tough decision to make. couldnt decide if i wanted the sport for the body kit, carbon fiber interior and black dash. or the sle for the luxurious leather interior, climate control, heated seats and the rest of the creature comforts. i kept sitting in each of them at the dealer today, thinking that if i got the sle i could eventually put the body kit on it and change out the springs and struts. but then i wouldnt have the black interior. i tried but i couldnt find a sport with the jbl system. im too used to my six cd in dash to go with the single, and i think the dash looks better with the climate control so i finally went with the sle. red, with gray leather int. and everything but the navigation unit and paid $25990. im defintitely looking for the body kit now. the car should arrive by the middle of july. they gave me a pretty good price for my trade and i got the 1.9% financing. wish me luck!!

I had the SAME thoughts as you. Absolutely Red is the best isn't it? :D

I liked the SE Sport V6, but I wanted a moonroof so bad.. and thats a $900 option, and then I wanted a JBL system and that really bumps up the price closer to the SLE. Then I thought the SLE V6 made more sense for the price because of the standard features like the moonroof, climate control, JBL system, leather, and white gauges (white is sporty, i still wonder why Toyota didn't just put white in the sport).

But this is how Toyota does business. Its either a standard, sporty or a luxury model. Its a smart one too because it'll get the customer's emotions involved and their wants for pricey options on top of the trims.

I still want the body kit though!!

Although I chose Ivory Leather because i think it looks great with red and it really makes the wood accents stand out. I'm very reminded that the interior looks almost like the Lexus ES330.

i liked the ivory with the red also but i sometimes get pretty dirty at work and the ivory is a little harder to keep clean. i thought the grey wuold be easier. and more sporty.

I'll admit it requires more effort to stay like-new. I suppose because the last two cars I had they had ivory interiors and I can't part with such a light interior. I think what also was the fact it was the last Solara I test drove, I said to myself..I want this one.
