need help with inside nav system on my 2004

I have the 2004 navi system solara. I want to connect my Ipod to this sytem. I was wondering if the back of the cd player has any kind of aux input or xm radio input which could be used for the same purpose. Or any type of adapters to convert it to a stereo connection. I desperately want to do this.

I live in los angeles and can't get the fm transmitters to work. Somebody who has opened their head unit, kindly assist me with this. I am not very good at opening the unit, hence would want to do it only if I do know that it is possible to do it.
