i was wondering if anybody had debadged their car. i just took off the toyota and the SE. i was wondering if the solara was on the trunk solely w/ adhesive, or was it held in by adhesive and prongs?

I did the exact same thing as well. Got pic on my site for removal of 'TOYOTA' and 'SE,' I too, am wanting to remove the the Big TOYOTA COWBOY emblem on the trunk lid as well. Any info would be great. I'm just not wanting to take this to the bodyshop and have them cut it out and flatten that part out, since it is raise.

The Solara should have pins to hold it in. If you remove that, you will need to fill the holes and then repaint the whole trunk lid to look good.

One way is to use a hairdryer and heat up the emblem (so the glue loosens) then get some dental floss and slide it behind the emblem. After that use a little bit of cleaner and wipe the glue off and just wax it or buff it out.

I've only removed the 'TOYOTA' and the 'SE' with the help of a hot air blow dryer. Just heat around the emblem that you wish to remove. I used a plastic scraping piece from the kitchen to carefully remove the emblems. Be very careful not to make any forceful move; it may chip or peel the paint off as well.

I had to work late tonight and was not able to get to the COWBOY and 'SOLARA' emblem tonight and will have to try later.

Will keep you guys posted.

The 'SOLARA' emblem has two holes and the TOYOTA COWBOY emblem has two holes as well. I'm going to rethink about this, because I don't want to pay a bodyshop to cover those holes. Anyone with any ideas?

you could mount something cool with the holes, like a squirt gun that shoots slick oil to shake the po-lice off your tail. :P

I'd just leave it, it looks fine with just that, as long as it's not too crowded on the rear end.

I'm with Rudy. I think i'd leave the cowboy emblem. I think it'll look better than having the rear end plain. You know wut I was thinking of doing actually. Since the rear end looks like an SC430, I wanted to put an SC430 emblem where the Solara emblem should be. I figured it'd confuse the ish outta people.

Funny post...LMAO  That would definitely put some confusion if you were to do that. Keep me posted, I'd like to see pics if you do.

Thanks guys! I was thinking about designing or customizing my own emblem to replace the COWBOY. What do you think, YES or NO?
