scion TC vs. Toyota Solara

wussup guys i had one question. Does the Scion TC have the same 4-cylinder engine as the Solara 4 banger?

so they say their coming out with the optional super charger for the TC, which means they will have the super charger for the 4 banger solara?

correct me if im wrong. i dont know much about this stuff... :roll:

i havent heard anything about a SC for the tc.... but i know the tc uses the same size engine as the i4 camry, a 2.4L DOHC (yet getting 3 more horses at an extra 100rpm... and a extra pound of torque) so more then likely they're are the same exact engine... but i havent seen a model# for the scions new engine. the 3.3L sc was scheduled for late summer (resectly we all learned that it was moved back). but i havent heard about one for the I4 inwhich i too am interested it, because i have a 03camry as well.

someone with a good TRD conection out there? 2.4I4 SC release soon??

the 2.4 S/C should come out the same day as the tC (I think the tC is mid june)

Also it weighs slightly less than the Solara... so it'd be slightly faster =P but not by much at all

the TC supercharger is coming out shortly after teh TC roll's our (i think some folks in cali already have tc at longo toyota..but i don't want to vouge for that). I think of TC is a good celica replacement...not a vehicle comprable to solara...(do keep in mind that 2005 is the last year US gets celica :cry:

).

We had one at longo x_X I think it's been touring southern california for the Scion workers. Just like the IS 430 came for Lexus =P Although it's not gonna happen haha

They usually bring car through before the launch or during prototyping to gauge reactions from people that sell the cars because they know (sort of) what the consumer wants.

sounds like the xA and xB... they had them at my dealler about 2 months before they were allowed to sell them... they didnt have one in stock for a month and a half except the demos because of all the preorders.

drop by longo if you want a xa/b... they have a ridiculous number lol

about 10 xB and 15 xA. 2 of the xBs are the special edition orange ones.

A lot of those scions are being traded to other dealers, from what I've seen.

to answer most of the questions

the TRD supercharger for the scion TC is the same as the solara/camry/highlander. they all use the 2az-fe. however toyota will more than likely make it void the warranty on the camry/solara/highlander (accredit that to saying the fuel maps are different) but yes it will fit. also IT WONT ROLL OUT SAME MONTH AS THE TC!!! earliest release dates are august but more likely towards november.

2 the XA/XB use a 1.5 shared with the echo. blitz has a charger, and a few more companies are working on turbos and superchargers for it. they est. a 50hp gain.

longo scion is in socal. they also help sponsor team scion west i belive.

Im kinda in between buyin NEW TC dropping June or the solara!!

did some research

not going for v6 solara so
either solara se sport or TC

for the buck TC is crazy and all those mods in good price
about 300 lbs TC is lighter, lower

solara is much roomier, beautiful lines

now im more into TC for now cause of money keke

I read in Road and track (?) i think that the new Lexus IS in 2006 (?) not sure about that either but sum time late like that will come with the optional V8

yah trd japan is working on a turbo i think... i've seen videos on 3 cars that use that engine
