Gas Fill Door Release Lever

Gas Fill Door Release Lever

The release lever inside the car (near trunk release) for the gas door sticks in the open position each time I pull it up. It will not automatically return to its "down" position. I have removed the plastic cover several times and tried to bend the lever a little to the left but it always reverts back to the original position. Do any of you have the same problem?

I have not had that problem. If I were you I would definitely bring it in to the dealer rather than trying to bend anything into position. They should tak care of it for you. Best of luck

My jetta had a similar problem with a twist... the fuel release was electronic with NO MANUAL RELEASE at all... It went bad 3 times and once required a tow because I ran out of gas... anyway

Take it to the dealer because there may be something stuck in the line somewhere... maybe take a quick look near the gas cap to see if that is where the problem is?

My camry (gen 4) had a problem where i'd pull the remote lock (by the trunk popper) and nothing would happen...Later i learnt that there was a TSB for my year camry...and the dealer installed a new thing (that I was also twisting to make it pop right initially). TSB solved my problem.....
