Climate Control Concern

Probably only those 04 Solara owners who live in wintery or cooler climates can help with this concern. And maybe I'm just being too picky, but when I owned my 2000 SLE I set the climate control at 70 degrees and never looked at it again. With my 04 I set it at 70 and sometimes it feels hot and I'll lower it to 68. Other times 70 seems cold and I'll increase it to 72. Maybe I'm just getting old and I'm starting to have hot flashes, but this sure is a frustrating situation. Has anyone else noticed that they've had to constantly adjust their climate control to maintain a comfortable temperature?

just be so lucky you have auto climate.

maybe the gen 2 just has a more acurate climate system.

I've had my temperature set to 68 all winter long and feel perfectly comfortable without the need to adjust. Combine that with the great heated seats and I'm enjoying driving in the winter like never before.
Once you've had auto climate control, you can't go back.

Maybe it's just me... but I constantly adjust the temp. of the automatic climate control (ACS).

I think it's just plain stupid ACS... it would turn AC ON, to cool the internal temp. down when the outside temp. is 50F !!

ACS should be smart enough to know, and take count what the intake temperature is... therefore adjusting internal temperature according to outside temperature.

Because it is stupid, you'll feel it too hot or not hot enough, when you set it to a constant temperature.

If you don't have ACS, would you turn AC ON when the outside temp. is 50F?

I also change the temp a couple of degrees. 74 to 76 (some like it hot). It depends on if the sun is shining through the windows.

The A/C also removes humidity but I always turn it off if the outside air temp is low. We don't have humidity here.

Well I have a 2002 Camry XLS and we have the same problem... It bothered me so much that on the Solara I bought I made sure that I didnt come with the climate control ( no sle ). There is no cure to this issue and the problem is the fact that some times the sensor gets a little warmer than where you sit so it tries to cool off the sensor... or something like that...good luck with this . I will say it really was only noticable in the winter.
