Our wheel wells are deep, and if you go with the TRD springs, they're only a 1.2" drop in the front, and 1.4" in the rear. So, the 17" rims will still have a good gap for it to roll. I'm planning on getting the TRD springs and 18"s. I don't think Tein is ever going to get around to the dampers for the '04's, so we're stuck with TRDs for now. Just gotta make sure to align the tires every now and then. IMHO, a dropped '04 will look awesome.

I scraped my front too once, but I was going into a driveway that had a steep entrance. But, no harm no foul.

Whew! You had me worried there for a second. I thought "drop" meant get rid of. Happy to see once again I was WRONG.

Scraping under the bumper would have to do with the roads that you drive on...Just gotta be more careful..

Or if ur talkin about the rims hitting the fender. TRD wouldn't make the springs drop the car too low that the factory option 17" would hit the fender.

Eibach makes their Pro-line kit for the '04. It's a 1.4" drop in the front and 1.6" in the rear. One of the parts guys at my dealership said that the TRD springs are identical to the Eibachs, but I don't know if I believe him. The Eibachs are still close to the half the price installed.

I am intrested in doing this too.. I have an SLE, and although the ride is luxurious, I would like it to have a stiffer ride, and reduce the wheel gap.

If anyone has pics... or can confirm that the Eibach Pro kit is the same as TRD... that would rock

thanks

TRD Springs from toyotaparts4u.com = $208.20
Anyone know of a good price for the Eibach’s?

I’ve also heard that TRD relabels the Eibach’s. But:

Eibach’s drop = 1.4” front, 1.6” rear
TRD’s drop = 1.2” front, 1.4” rear

I don’t understand the different drop dimensions. Is Discount Tire Centers the place that offers lifetime wheel alignment?

Eibach's for $219 at http://www.modacar.com/products/Toyota/Solara/Springs/

Apparently, there's an alignment kit for the '04 as well.

I don't believe you really need an alignment kit (from previous posts on here), you can go to Tire Shop and have them align your tires for you.

The MSRP for the alignment kit is about $25-30, from what I remember.
