so ya we have snow covered streets here and the traction control beep goes off now and again especially on the right turn i make onto my street its all good and keeps the car in tact.

So I decided hey lets see what the differences is.

So I disabled the traction control ( button below the side mirror adjusters)
went on that right hand turn into my street and there was quite the slide.

ID have to say thats its a nice feathure when you know the idfference between what it does and dosent do for you, that picture they show you of a car sliding around on a curvy street dosent do it justice till you actually see the difference for your self.

good stuff

Do you have VSC? That is what will keep the car on course in a turn, not traction control. Traction control simply limits (or stops) drive wheel spin. Traction control also only flashes a light on the dash with no audible beep. VSC is what makes an audible beep.

I think all '04 SLE's come with both Traction control and VSC (a package that it seems Toyota is putting on). In this car you can turn off Traction control but not VSC. I've seen both of them working on my car and haven't turned off the Traction control ever nor do I intend to. I'm very glad to have both working to protect me, especially the Traction control this winter.

VSC, at least in the southeast, is an option. Traction control is standard, VSC is not. It is difficult to find one with VSC/TRAC/CURTAIN AIRBAGS here.

Neat. I wish all U.S. Solaras came with those options. There were three Solaras in the southeast U.S. that had the options I wanted (VSC/TRAC/CURTAIN AIRBAGS) at the time of purchase.

Interesting.... Every SLE sold in the NY area has those options.
