Stock talk about the Generation 2 and 2.5 Toyota Solara which was released in 2004-2007

Considering the type of rattle I described, you would:

Get it fixed. If more rattles occur have them take care of them, too.

Leave well enough alone since it's not that loud and only occassional.

I just left my dealership to have my 5k mile oil change done. While I was there I took one of the mechanics out for a ride to check out a rattle coming from the passenger side of my front dash. The mechanic confirmed the rattle and felt it was coming from the speaker rubbing against the dash material. So we get back to the dealership, they do the oil change, and tell me they need the car for a full day to fix the rattle. I ask them what they'll do to fix it. They tell me they have to take the complete dash assembly apart to fix the problem. Yikes! Seems like a shotgun-fix to me, but, hey, I'm not the expert.

Here are my concerns. What would you do?

First, the rattle isn't that loud and only occurs about 50% of the time on the road. It's typically drowned out by the radio. But I'm a perfectionist, so any rattle, regardless of volume, duration, or frequency, drives me nuts.

By having the dash ripped apart I worry more rattles may be created or damage to the dash may be done. Should I just learn to live with it?

--or--

Have the rattle fixed, and if more rattles are created of if something is damaged hold the dealership accountable and have them fix it until I am completely satisfied. This option may require a lot of time out of my schedule.

it seems your doing something id do: getting other people to tell you the rattle is ok so you will leave it so that you dont have to take the time to have it fixed.

id get it fixed and get them to toss in a bag of kitty litter for the inconvience lol

I think I found the rattling sound, I was taking a short cut through the back streets when i heard the rattling again i turned off the Fan and heat to listen closer to see where its coming from then it went away, i turned back down the street again and drove around a lil longer, no rattling sound so chances are it might be the vent or something part of the venting system.

I also might be wrong.
