Rear Deck Rattle

Rear Deck Rattle

Postby SportGuy » Tue Dec 23, 2003 6:53 pm

I have had my Solara for about 3 months and love the car. Does pull slightly to the left but other than that has been a dream!! Since the cold weather has arrived, I have noticed a rattle in the rear deck area but cannot pinpoint it. Has anyone else experienced this problem or any suggestions??

Check the headliner at the top of the rear window by hitting it gently with your fist in several different areas. If you hear a rattle, pinpoint it and stuff foam padding in the area.

Next, gently hit the rear deck with your fist and see which part rattles. Then fold down the rear seats, remove the carpet/cardboard liner, and lift up the deck. Stuff foam padding where necessary.

That should solve the rattles...for the most part.

Thanks for the tips...I will give them a try. It is the most annoying thing but at least it only happens when it is cold!!

My car does the same thing. I actually have it at the dealer now having a rear strut and mount ordered. The problems you are having is identical , especially that cold comment. I'll let you know if that works out.
