OK I want what TRD did to their '04 at SEMA.

Custom TRD rear kit, and dual exhaust. It is really sweet, I hope TRD produces them for the public soon.

hmm well it looks nice, but not really my taste. i do like the 04s, theyre really nice and sleek. but i think that they are so elegant that the TRD version doesnt really look all that sporty. the dual exhaust is really cool, and the TRD rims are nice, but i mean the SE sport already comes with the 17" wheels and the body kit. i guess its just that the car is almost too elegant to be that sporty now. i sorta like the gen 1-1.5 TRD solaras better. but thats just me.

THe 04 looks WAY MORE like a luxury car than a sports car. The 99-03 is luxury but looks more like a sports car. TRD rims and suspension... bleh...

But I'm interested in that dual exhaust =P I'd be cool to see a few of you gen 2 owners w/ it

I'd like to see a front view of that grille. It seems odd to me that most gen 1-1.5 owners don't like the new styling. IMO, the 1-1.5 was one of the blandest styling attempts I have seen, and far from sporty, with a kit or not. But I do want the SC that was available to them.

I like the new solara but the TRD version isn't that big of an improvement.

Seeing the new styling in photos and in person is a whole different thing. I think the new Solara looks better in person than in photos. I'm not sure how many just saw the photos and didn't like them. I owned a Gen1 and the new interior and exterior styling is quite a bit better. I still like the Gen1 though when I see them on the road. To me, the Gen1.5 tail lights were major ugly.

I think other than the exhaust, i didn't like much about their version of the car. Single exhaust would have been suffice for me (mesh grils and fiberglass aftermarket versions) might work out better for those wanting grill changes. The rims, i think you can better priced and looking rims for the one they charge for. Overall, yeah, its not bad..but it doesn't look hard to replicate w/o using trd stuff!

I'm only into the custom rear kit, dual exhaust, and suspension. I agree those TRD rims aren’t worthy.

It's really just a matter of personal preference. To me, the new Solara has too much resemblence to the SC430 in the rear, and I have never liked that car. I disagree with you about the old Solara not looking sporty with kit and lowering, as long as it doesn't go too far. With the right modifications, I think the old Solara looks really good. Stock to stock, however, the new Solara looks more finished. Stock gen 1-1.5 cars look like something is missing.

it looks almost stock how boring...toyota neds to put more time and $$ into developing these kits...and those rims are ugly but an imporvement over the TSW's they put on the first trd kit on the first generation solara's which again isn't saying much.

The wheels are alrite and the exhaust looks DECENT at most...other than that it looks pretty stock. The more I look at the 04's the more I dislike them.

What with you all folks, its all in the same family! Weather we're gen 1's, 1.5 for gen 2's, I see a lot of bashing towards something you might now own. Flash, this isn't just towards you...but some people as well....Just live in peace! :bday:

It still looks pretty much the same. Nothing striking. Although, the dual exhaust should be standard, it really makes it look more sporty. But, I still don't see why TRD wasted their time.....they should be concentrating on the S/C!!!

See, that's all I meant. The TRD mods don't add too much to the car unless you realize it has the TRD parts on it =P
