Adding Automatic Climate Control to SE

Adding Automatic Climate Control to SE

Has anyone investigated adding the climate control to an SE? I am hoping the harness is there, and it would simply require swapping modules. Anyone checked this out in the shop manual? I didn't think it would be a big deal, but I find I am always adjusting the fan and temp to stay comfortable.

u technically can do it
but it requires a lot of wiring which include temperature readings and such
the cost and time to do it is way too much to get any benefit
theres a couple threads on it, probably just have weird titles

I'm assuming you're asking if it's a simple swap out, it's not. The air conditioning amplifier assembly right behind the control unit will be different. In fact, most of the connections are different between the 4-cylinder and the 6-cylinder even on the same model year. And like kingkakyle said, there's also the matter of adding the sensors to read the cabin temperature. (Caveat: No I'm not an expert I just read the mechanics manual after wondering about the exact same question.)
