Like Chrystie says, they just came out :) You'll see a lot more of them on the streets soon enough -- it's still 2003 too! :) Anyhoo, this is the site dedicated to the Solara! So, you found the place.

I think thats a good thing! Well in my opinion i rather have a 'rare' car, than one that you see everywhere u look. So for me, i enjoy being the only on the road with a 2nd gen. 8)

I got my Gen 1.5 (02) and didn't see ANY Solaras on the road... then about 2 months after that... I saw more and more... Nowadays, I see at least 20 a day!!!

As for Gen 2, I barely saw my first one on the Road 2 or 3 weeks ago and ever since then, I've seen at least 3 a week =] Damn Californians and their good taste in cars Hrmph! =P

I see about 2-3 new 04 Solaras on the road everyday...and they always seem to stare back and say "hah, I have a newer Solara!" well maybe they arent really thinking that, its just my over active imagination.

04 solara on the road....

Postby papaae » Mon Nov 10, 2003 5:50 pm

People,
I have seen a few 04's floating around but as I have said in previous posts about this subject the median age for this car is far above our age group and well that sucks.
I think I've seen older women in their 40's or 50's a lot driving them, then again I'm on Lawn Gisland hahahha 8) .
I will say this though I hate seeing older people buy sporty cars, its like it wasnt meant to be almost like they should be driving buicks, oldsmobiles, and sables cars like that................
Ugg am I being silly or does anybody esle agree?
P.S. I have been seeing a lot more Gen 1's around the road recently, as far as that goes the less Solara ban wagon fans the better. My job puts me in constant communication with all car dealers and the Toyota Salesman and management have told me that you will see the 04 model get pushed a LOT more than the Gen 1's.
I just dont want the solara to turn into the everybody owns one car kinda like the civic.............hahahah

Yep, I'm on Long Island too and lately see a ton of Gen1 and 1.5 Solara's. When I got mine in Oct 98 there were almost none around for the first year. But then it really took off and a large majority sold here were SLE's. I've only seen one other 04 Solara so far and it was almost identical to mine. I sure hope exclusivity will last for at least six months.

My '04 is the only one I've seen in the area. There are three Toyota dealers so I am surprised I don't see more.
