I went to Classic Carwash today and while I was waiting I noticed they had a "Paint Chip Restoration - Free Estimates" sign. My whole front end got sandblasted pretty hard and I have specks all over my hood. My lights are also fogged up and hit pretty hard. The guy at Classic told me that the paint chip restoration would reduce the noticeable chips by about 90% for 80 bucks, and also they would sand down rebuff and clear up my headlights for an additional 50. I know PlastX can already do the headlight thing but I work all day and hardly have time to care for the car anymore..

Just wanted to know price-wise what some of you think...

the chips are quite noticeable, as is the fogging lights.

or....... i can use that money and buy a new grill from MichaelT.

Do it. If it works well, it's well worth the money.

I say go for the repairs, and get the grill later.

Just a tip, what i do is wax my headlights, brake lights, hood, and front fender every time i wash my cars, and have NEVER had any of my headlights "fog up" like yours has.

BTW, Michael, how much are your grills going for now? and does it come with the toyota logo (I like it with it on)?

wk.. click on the links in his sig. I want his black grill. my hood is not a wax issue. they're rock chips from a long road trip.. but i've never tried waxing the lights. that's a lot of work to wax your car everytime you wash it!

And thanks Michael. I'll do some consideration tonight. :)

I think it's a good idea.

I do the headlight restoration process as a service too. But for $50, I also put a 3M clear bra film onto the headlight so that it never gets pitted, or foggy again.

^^Now that's what I'm talking about^^restore the headlights and 3m clear bra it. I did my whole front bumper after I had the bumper and hood repainted and it's so well worth it; not only that it protects rock chips, but bugs are MAD around here in Kentucky. It's not very hard to clear bra your car, but it sure is time consuming. You'll also need a buddy to help hold the 3m clear bra also. Took me about 2-3 hours all together. Dealership wanted to charge me $500 just to 3m clear bra the bumper only. I did my sideview mirrors too.

The you can reuse your Toyota emblem from your original front grill. Instructions to remove the emblem are included. PM me when you're ready.

Thanks,

^^Cool^^

...And to the guys that wash their cars on a weekly basis, I envy you...since having two daughters, those weekend/mid-week car washes are rare and few. I'm lucky to use my sponsored Zaino wax once or twice a year - http://www.zainostore.com/ I love this stuff. You guys ever use it?
