Whats up everybody, a parking attendant just rear ended my lara into a pole. The right taillight is busted and there is a huuuge dent in the bumper so im guessing imma need to replace both. Anyone got an idea approximately how much it would be for both plus labor?

i have a set of oem tail lights, For sale. but your looking anywhere from 400 to 1000 dollars for labor and parts depending on your car color and what shop you take it to. Plus if someone else "parking attendant" rear ended your car they should be responsible for the damage.

yeah i was guessing that too, i have full coverage and plan on going through my insurance co. I was worried bout the 500 deductable, but someone told me i may not have to pay it since i wasn't driving. The parking att manager offered me their body shop for free, but i was afraid of crappy work. They didn't seem to like the idea i called the police for an accident report either.

btw my car is a lunar mist (silver) 04 se sport v6, thanks for the taillight offer but for now it looks like i'm going through the insurance.

the attendant or the company that he or she works for should be paying for your damage through their insurance.

If the attendant or his parking company didn't have insurance you'll probably have to pay your deductible and have your insurance company go after the attendant for him to repay your deductible. Most insurance company's (I know State Farm does) have to pay back your deductible BEFORE pocketing any money the guitly party refunds to them.

If the attendant or his parking company did have insurance then your insurance company will probably advise that you call and file a claim with attendant's or his company's insurance. However that requires that they give you the information, which may or may not be on the accident report. If the guilty party totally blows you off and will not work with you I would suggest you get your insurance company involved quickly. However, all the bickering will have you waiting to get your car repaired, so if you can stomach the deductible go ahead and pay it to get your repair started. On a final note, mention as much as possible that it was a "not at fault" accident to remind your insurance company not to raise your premium in case the details get lost in all this madness. Good luck!

Edit: Oh, one more very important thing: pick a body shop YOU trust, NEVER go with the one the person who damaged your car suggests.

thanks for the advice guys. that was the biggest thing bothering me when the manager offered to fix my car at their shop. i gotta wait to see what kind of insurance they have (valet company), and what would be the most beneficial to me since it totally wasnt my fault.

update

Postby data xXx » Wed Sep 23, 2009 6:20 pm

I figured out that it wouldn't make sense to go thru my insurance company since my deductable is 1000 and the estimated repairs were 990. I went to the body shop the parking company referred me to. The company paid for my rear bumper and tail light. I paid the shop 500 to redo a whole side (keyed), a quarter panel (hit by someone in a parking lot) and repainted my front bumper. Car looks a whole lot better than b4, maybe this incident was a blessing in disguise.

Nice to hear this incident worked out to your favor, even though you had to cough up $500.

If it's quality work, that was a steal of a deal.
