My NEWEST IDEA!

My NEWEST IDEA!

Postby liltimmy1313 » Mon Oct 27, 2008 1:22 pm

Now if you have paid any attention to my posts, you'd know that i am always pregnant with ideas. I'm what youd call a "DREAMER." ha

But, gettin to business i got this idea, What if i were to contact toyota of europe, and buy a drivers side seat from an SLE. Since its europe, the drivers seat is on the opposite side, (and power). If i get it to match the leather of my car, then couldnt i have power seatin in both ma seats??

I figure it might be tough to wire, and even tougher to find a seat matching those specs. But, hey, I m a dreamer, remember?

Any thoughts/suggestions on this mod?

Wow, there are so many things wrong with that idea.

1) The Solara was only sold in the US and Canada.

2) Most of Europe drive on the right side of the road like we do... exception is the UK and Ireland.

Sorry for pissing on your parade. :P

I'd rather take the power seats from a Lexus IS-300
and take the memory seat feature too. Both power, and both heated.

do they even sell solaras in japan? I always was informed they dont sell "solaras" in Japan....Camry's on the other hand, are sceptors over there...then ud have to get a US spec left side driver seat from a camry, then a japan camry driver seat....

why go thru all that trouble?

Let me reiterate... solaras were only sold in the US and Canada, ever.

It would suprise me if the seat from a Japan spec camry is different from US spec solara. As in, bolt position, and wiring harness for the electrical seat. But when it comes to stich pattern, there might be a difference.

However, I do like TLMNICK said. "Lexus IS-300 seats."

Dood - Solaras were never sold there.

... liltimmy you'd be better off just getting a second driver's seat from here and having a good upholstery shop move the controls to the other side for you. Since the motors are in the seat itself, you'll just need to snag power from the driver's side and make sure your seat heater is connected properly. ;)
