Damnit, I had taken my car in today to get it's oil changed at Toyota, I also wanted them to try and fix a problem with my Radiator host leaking from the top of the engine and I had also told them about my stupid head light getting condensation now.

I took my car in at 9:15 am and get a call from the service guy at 4:45pm telling me he contacted the service agreement people for my "Certified Platinum Coverage" and he tells me that the damn radiator hose is not covered under my Certified Used Vehicle Platinum Coverage. And neither is the headlight. I had a feeling that the headlight wouldn't be covered but to tell me I payed extra for this stupid platinum coverage and for them to not replace my faulty leaking radiator hose is absurd! The guy gave me the stupid TFS phone# and a name w/ my claim number or whatever I even check the website https://my.toyotafinancial.com/consumer ... cludedComp
and I am not showing that my coverage does not specifically not cover "radiator hoses" so I am going to call and open up a claim and see if that works. What do you guys think?

I was offered Toyota's Platinum Care extended warranty and passed on it mainly due to it not covering things I wanted and it's vagueness on everything else. I still got the sales literature I was given. It's like somebody without a GED wrote this contract on a Friday at 4:59pm. On mine it states it excludes "Vacuum hoses, lines & tubes" and "Heating hoses, lines & tubes", so I thought you might have a glimmer of hope with the coolant hose but then further down the list past "shiny metals" (WTF?) it list "hoses". It also does not cover hinges, fasteners, nuts, bolts, door trim fabric or interior handles. Everything payed by them hinges on the term "mechanical failure", so that might also nix the condensation in the headlight also. That being said, I would look at a copy of your contract with a magnifying glass or get a copy. If you get a copy make sure it is from the year you bought the warranty--warranty contracts get changed every 2 seconds.

If it's any help I chose something called TotalCare which gives me pages upon pages of what they cover and what they do not, it was double the price of the Toyota plan but I sleep better and hope to never have to use it. I drink enough as it is, I don't need the stress! Oddly enough, at the same time I agree with Pxl's take on extended car warranties.

Edit: Mine doesn't cover coolant hoses either.
