TSB stands for Technical Service Bulletin (some think it is Toyota Service Bulletin)

Those 2 problems had been disucted and you can find the TSB number in the Sticky http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=18334
Those problem should be fixed without any fees even if you're out of your warranty. Just tell a diagnotic reflexting the points on the TSB and if they hesitate just tell them you make your own search and that you heard about the specific TSB...they will have no choice to fix it.

Correct...your VIN will have to be identified and from there they will check if your car is covered....but if you have an '04 those 2 problems enumerate above are covered. Now do your part !!

if you have an 04, you better do it quick. The sunroof only had a 3 year warentee, and unfortunatly mine ran out about 3 months before i bought the used car. The shifting thing is still doable cause it ocmes under the 8 year warentee.

I don't think you need to be under warranty...it is a recall like thing. Surely it is a no brainer when you're under warranty

TSB listening
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/tsbs/

I took it from a Dodge Ram forum...it backup my thoughts

What if my dealer can't or won't fix a problem? Can I get a dealer to cover a known problem after the warranty expires?

If the problem was documented before the warranty expired, the dealer will perform the repair under warranty but, you may have to produce the documentation and fight for warranty coverage. For example, if I brought my truck into the service department complaining about transmission noise and the service department said it sounded normal to them. Then 2800 miles out of warranty, the transmission looses a synchronizer and bearing. I would take the service ticket where they said "no problem found" and insist that this repair be covered under warranty. The dealership will attempt to say the problem was unrelated, but usually they will capitulate and cover the repair.

An other source who tells the opposite.

http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jm/warranty.htm
Technical service bulletins (TSBs) are diagnostic tools, not warranties. Automakers determine if a symptom might indicate a specific repair, and issues the TSB for the technician's use. For example, a failed sensor may cause a vehicle to run rough. By checking your vehicle's symptoms against the TSB database, the technician will hone in on the sensor first, instead of wasting time checking the vehicle's entire system.

TSB

Postby JMSinMaryland » Sun Nov 25, 2007 3:01 pm

TSB are addressed if someone comes in with the issue vs. a recall where everyone is notified. TSB's have expiration dates, some are 3/36, some 8/80, etc depending. On the TSB at the bottom it lists how long of a period is covered. Jon.
