Gen 2 Center Flip Top

Gen 2 Center Flip Top

Postby radmanGTO » Sun Sep 30, 2007 2:22 pm

Well, I thought I had "lost" 2 pens over a short period of time. Recently, I tried to open the flip lid to put a cup in the largest part of the holder and found the lip would not open fully. Upon the usual investigation, I find that the two wayward pens somehow got behind the opening and were "there" stopping the full open swing of the lid.

I've tried wedging the lid slightly and fishing out the pens with anything and everything; no luck.

Anyone have success "finding" your pens or other items in that black area? Worse case in removing the center consol but that would seem like a huge job ....

Thanks,
Radman

if your talking about the cup holder inbetween the center glovebox and the shifter, it's easy to get that out. Just open the bottom part of the two layer glovebox, and then start prying the forward part up and it just pulls right out. check my pictures of my GPS install to see how.

If your caption on your photo is correct, it's just prying up and out it pops ....??

"The center console just pops out. Start by prying up at the rear glove box and work your way forward"

No clips, screws, etc,....??

Thanks,
Radman

I agree, it's pretty easy. You will be surprised.

That's a real "leap of faith" just grabbing your consul and prying it up ... man, that just doesn't seem like it should work .... !!!!

But, I'll give it a try ...

Thanks,
Radman
