You'll find the entire recommended service schedule for your car from the first check to 120,000 miles here: http://gadgetjq.com/solara/maintenance.htm

Scroll down to "Toyota Maintenance Schedule" and click on the clipboard.

I just had the 60k service done, along with engine coolant flush/ trans flush and new spark plugs. I can feel a huge difference. The odd pause between when I push the gas and when it goes, is a little less, and the power seems more responsive throughout the entire range. My car only had 60k on it, and was only previously driven by a very nice older lady, so i am very surprised. Apparently, ours cars like to stay "fresh" :)

I don't think there is much to do at 30k maintenance except oil change, tires, filter.

My car is an 04 but its still under 20k in milage, and all I did so far are oil change and I changed the air filter for a new one once.

Gotta love Toyotas and their low maintenance requirement. :D

Honestly, how the heck do you keep your miles so low in FL? It's not like you can walk anywhere, it's either too hot or too far.

Your friends drive you everywhere??

Ive only got 22 on mine, but that is because it has spent a lot of its life in the shop.

It is interesting that after the tune-up that the car is more responsive when you hit the gas. I wonder if mine needs something done to spice it up a bit, although with 22k, i wouldnt think that too much has gotten gunked up yet.

^^For me it probably had something to do with the spark plugs and the new engine coolant. Just restores it, not really improves really.

I drive myself to places, the places I go to are not really too far. I work seasonal time at Disney so I don't always drive there and the car got most of the miles from travels to school.

I put only about 6000+ miles a year into the lara, the car will be over 100k when I am 37 years old, which is about 16 years from now. hahhaa

^^I assume you make sure you are makin sure your changing your oil every three months, regardless of whether or not your driving it. Because it does make a difference.

Guys/Gals, I am really serious. I can feel a difference. I feel like the car has more power than before.

I bought the car at like 57k miles. It now has 63k. The plugs I was given (they said they were mine) looked fine, not crusty or bad, not overly burnt up or oddly shaped.

Why do I feel like the car is smoother, and peppier? Could they have done that "reflash" I have heard about that helps the trans without me knowing?

I have the 60k maintenance coming up in a few days on my 2005 Solara SE: has anybody actually have valve clearance adjustments performed on you car's engine? I know the 2AZ-FE just gets the lifters or buckets replaced with one whose measurements match the gaps, but overall, I wanted to know what is the possibility of having the car REALLY checked and ACTUALLY adjusted by dealer. My understanding is that my 2AZ-FE might need some as the engine has gotten noisier with time, especially since it performs double duty due to the manual transmission.

Oh, and I was also told that the timing chain has to be replaced at 100k miles...I understood these chains were more durable than that!

^^^ Yeah, I would think a chain would go further. But I haven't looked (34k)

Just curious... did you complain about the pause at all to the service guys? Any chance they did the TSB for the lag? That made a huge difference on the '04. If not, you should try to get that done. It can still be even better. (Plus it's free)

Took the car in for my transmission problem (were waiting for 5th gear synchro(s)). I asked about pricing for the 60k and they told me ~$350. Also, I didn't know they replaced spark plugs at 60k, although I'm feeling good since they will replace the PCV valve.
