squealing noise..from rims?

i guess this started recently but when i drive i can hear a squealing noise comming from my left side, when i stop the noise is gone. i dont know what it is. any suggestions? could something be wrong with my rims? the car doesnt feel wobbly or anything.

It is most likely the brakes... I had the same thing happen to me about 2 months ago... just replace your front pads (I am assuming it is coming from the front) also, depending on how fvcked up your rotors are you may have to get those resurfaced...

the brake heat shield? see if it is rubbing against the rotor.

to clarify i believe the problem is when moving (NOT BRAKING). So the rotors and pads are probably fine.

I know... He said he is having the noise when driving... and not necessarily during braking... but I did have the exact same symptoms (noise during driving-- and actually was less when braking), and it was the pads/rotors in my case...

true it could definitely be a warped rotor or pad. It's just extremely common for the heat shield to get knocked and rub against the rotor. You can check if its the heat shield without even removing the rim, just push it back with a stick through the spokes.

Brake pads have a dragger that pops out once the pad is worn enough. It's put there so you hear it and replace the brakes.

well i realized that when i just bought my rear brake pads but the noise you can hear more on the left side of the car then the right. ill have it fully checked out on friday by my mechanic. my front pads are still good so im not sure yet. thanks for the input guys and girl :D

if it's not your brake pads, it could be your Front Brake Hardware Kit.

oh i got the same sound, but for me, it just start for 2-3 weeks,,, is from rear. left....don't know what;s going on...may be is time to go for the tein suspenion :-)

well i found out what it was. it was my left rear brake sensor cause my pads were worn down. well the noise stopped after the sensor broke lol! you dont really need it but i replaced it and my pads. the right side wasnt as worn down for some reason..
