tire help...

Hi guys,

I have an 06 and needed new rear tires. I went to Sears because they are usually good to me. Well they didn't have any tires that were the same as stock, so they some me some very expensive michelins. They told me that they were a different size but that I wouldn't see any difference.

They put on 2 Michelins HXMXM4B 235/50V17. What are the stock tire sizes and should I be concerned about those tires being on the rear?

Thanks

I'd put new tires on the front and shift old tires to the back, but that's just me.

I'm not the most knowledgable on car stuff, but wouldn't it be better for all tires to be the same size?

The new tires shouldn't be a problem...

...it's just a little wider. Go to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to see the measurements.

The stock tire size is 215/55/17.

The car definitely should not be shaking.

The shaking could be caused by improper tire balancing... take your car back and tell them to do it right...
