Perhaps you should have bought an Accord or something else. BTW - these people are trying to give you a hand here. No need to be so defensive. Anyway, it sounds like there are some things you don't like about the car. Never heard anyone complain about having to hit the unlock button twice. If you don't have a passenger whats the point of opening both doors? My 78 year old dad's 2005 camry does that and he never complained. So what else? The OBX pedals are disgusting and you see no purpose to having to hit the unlock button twice..Enjoy the car..its a fun car to drive and a pleasure to own.

Pretty simple 2 me... and I AM Lazy! ;)

Two clicks unlocks both doors... two clicks sets alarm and turns off the lights.

Unless you don't have fingers to start with or have a disability that restricts the use of your digits, I'm not seeing a problem here.

dude, chill. i am not trying to knock on my own brand new car. i like to customize things to max. thus, i am here. yes, i am loving the car so far. definitely better than an accord, lol.

i am just curious why toyota made it double click to unlock both doors. doesn't really add any security feature.

i beg to differ on the double click not being a security feature. its very minor but it may halp prevent someone from jacking your car when youre getting into it.
my girls dodge neon does the double click as well. its kind of a pain.

buy an aftermarket system problem solved.

SolaraBlue is right...the single click is a safety feature designed to help prevent someone from jumping in one of your other doors that you might not be thinking about.

I didnt know about the double-click to set the alarm. I always thought the alarm was set ANYTIME you locked the car with the remote with a single click (that's the way it is on my 4Runner)...

lol, what can they do if they jump into your car? if they have a gun, it wouldn't matter if they can get into the passenger. they'll just point and ask for your key. life is so depressing. why can't all the bad people just drop dead? haha

Well, you can still duck and floor it to safety, providing you don't back out of car spaces slower than your grandma (another advantage of parking your car front end out).

One press of the lock button arms the alarm and locks the doors. A second click immediately after the first turns off all lights.
Moved on to better things...
