Goodbye my Solara...

Goodbye my Solara...

Postby DocJohn » Sun Oct 15, 2006 5:36 pm

Well, it did it... I sold my Solara last week and bought an Infiniti G35 coupe. My Solara was a great car and I miss it, but I’m really enjoying my G35... IT ROCKS! Yes, I know they eat tires and brake pads, but its not my daily driver so I can keep the miles down.

The aftermarket for the G35 is awesome. You name it and at someone makes it. Want a supercharger, turbocharger, performance exhaust system, headers, plenum spacer, coilovers, performance ECU? ... You got it. I already have Nissan JDM clear side marker lights, an AFE air filter, and a “Z tube” (this is the air intake tube from the 350Z that can replace the one in the G35 for about 6 more HP) on their way.

I just wanted to say “Thank you” to all the folks on this site that have helped me. It’s the members of SolaraGuy that make it such a great site. I hope the G35 forums are near as good and helpful as this site is.

I’ll still drop in and see what’s up from time to time.

BTW - Later tonight I'll have my complete 4 volume set of Solara Factory Service Manuals for sale on e-bay (Item number: 220038043462)

Good decision. I'll be doing the same thing in about three weeks, though it'll be a sedan. Did you buy new or used? Options? Price?

Nice- You'll enjoy the car. I'm planning on doing the same thing in a few years after the redesign has come out. I'm thinkin either the G coupe fully loaded or a 350Z convertible- not sure yet. I'm sure I'll change my mind hundreds of times between now and then.

Its an '04 AT, Platinum Graphite with Charcoal leather, with 12K miles. All options (including Bose, XM radio, 18" wheels), except NAV and aero package. Paid about $28K out the door.

Things I miss from my Solara include the trip computer (must be part of the Nav system on the G35?) and power lumber in the driver's seat.

Will try and post pictures next week.

Sorry, I sold the OE wheels and tires 2 years ago.

I've registered on g35driver.com. I was able to download the entire '04 G35 coupe factory service manual (157 MB zipped) from that site. Very helpful.

Oh :o

Guess I misread your first post:

I think PXL was referring to the Infiniti OE wheels.
