Seat Belt indicator - is there a way to disable it?

Hey Guys,

Is there a way to disable the Seat Belt indicator? Either by a fuse or connector?

Please dont flood this post with "yeah just wear your seat belt"...

Any instructions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

hey, atleast our cars dont make that crazy annoying sound if u dont put on ur seatbealt. I know chevy has it in there cars.
Im pretty sure someone else asked this same question a while ago and peeps just wrote wear ur seatbelt. The little blinking light doesnt bother me to much.There's no way you can just ignore it? lol

Pull out your cluster and remove the bulb, that what i did

My GF's Camry does that to, for the driver AND the passanger. It stops after like 1 min though. Annoying as hell.

I have the Camry, and yes it is an annoying "ding ding" that gets faster after 10 seconds and shuts down after 30 seconds. Very annoying, from my uderstanding only the dealer can disable it.

It was annoying enough that the red light flashed continuously, now I have an annoying sound to go with it too.

My best friend's little bro died at age 16 in a car accident. Would've lived if he'd had on his seatbelt. You said not to say it but I'm going to anyway. It is STUPID not to wear it.

When someone else is paying my health insurance, then they can dictate what I do. Remove the cluster and desolder the LED. It's not that hard.

If you wear your seatbelt, then you will not hear the sound.

I don't think Toyota dealers would actually disable your car's sensor.

I in no way support doing this, but since you asked:

Ok, here's the easy way to do this. Put your driver's seat all the way back, and look under it through the front. When you do this, you will see some wires and a connector. If you don't, get a flashlight or feel around for it. Unplug it, and the sensor turns off, that simple. Same for the other side too, my Saturn was the exact same. If you need pics, just ask and I'll get them.

And yes, my solution is to just wear your seat belt. My sister was involved in a T-boned accident at 60mph by an old Lincoln towncar with no brakes applied, and she would have easily died had her seat belt not been on. I've also been involved in a few accidents because curbs in Arizona tend to jump out at you, so I HIGHLY ADVISE wearing seat belts. It's all personal choice though, so you do what you want and pay the consequences accordingly.

I agree with Katherine. its obvious seatbelts can save your life. me and my bro were hit by a truck from the back last year at 80mph while at a dead stop.. major whiplash. if it werent for seatbelts him and i wouldve flown through the windshield like it wasnt even there. Id keep that indicator there if I were you. ..

Seatbelt doesnt save lives. It wouldnt save my groceries that I put on the passenger seats and light goes off like crazy haha.

I did this too, but the passenger indicater still works, because its located by the clock. (a different cluster)
