Window problem

Window problem

Postby Willy7o2 » Fri Dec 03, 2004 4:54 pm

I took my car down to LA a second time now.... this time, it was quite windy. Driving at 80mph, everything is normal. When I hit about 90's I notice that the passenger side seem to sound weird.... as if there was a crack where air is leaking in.... I thought maybe because the wind was really strong from that side, but driving home the next day was the same.... and this time, the wind was blowing against my window..... but how am I suppose to tell the dealership to test it driving over 90mph. is there anything I could do myself?

Have a passenger test the window the next time you're speeding that fast for air leakage, sounds, etc. Have them try pressing the top corner of the window or something. Look at the outside for any obvious spaces. Direct a strong water spray at top of closed window to see any leakage.... Can't think of any other things...

it happens to almost all frame-less window car

it happened to me, i just go in and they re-align the door (the dier side was slightly "lower" then it should be, leaving a tiny gap) hey also replace the piece of rubber which the window press against, no problem so far.

I've had this problem in the past, and they replaced the window seal around my drivers side window. I notice the "wind" sound again at about 80 - 85 MPH.
