I think your best protection would be to get a car cover and use it as much as you can! Junest has had her car for a few months now and it's still super clean. When we wash the car, we just lightly scrub the spots on the top that needs to be cleaned.

I use Woolite laundry soap for my car. I get a bucket of water and mix with 1/3 cap full of the soap and get a big sponge and a soft bristle brush for the tuff spots. I only wash my top every 2-3 weeks and vacuum the dust off in between washes.

I would follow the instructions in the manual. It's all covered in there.
