Tired of all the issues w/ Gen 2

Postby junest » Sun Sep 12, 2004 6:43 pm

Sorry to hear about the problems you've been having. I've had my solara for 5 mos. now and not 1 thing has gone wrong. Maybe, just maybe you got a lemon. I'm aware of all the TSB's out, but I've never exprerienced any of them. You might wanna take that up with the dealer.

Sorry to hear you're running into more problems man. I can't remember if you've tried a different dealer yet or not. So far Sandy Springs has been much better than Team for me (knock on wood).

Hang in there Brian. You've got Rene, Louis & I curious about what you've got up your sleeve. We'll have to have another meet up soon!

I seriously believe if you bought a Solara after April, there shouldn't be any real problems with it.

Lemon Laws

Postby mmcdonald » Mon Sep 13, 2004 4:32 am

Maybe you should see a lawyer about your state's lemon laws. There is always a few out there no matter how good the quality of the car/manufacturer.

I have had a few minor issues re: tsb's, but nothing that is not liveable even without repair.

The window channel issue is just freaky and the sort of thing that should get your money back under the lemon laws if you have diligently pursued repairs all along.

Otherwise these are great cars. And I mean, even though Toyota has made some Chevrolet models for Chevy in the past... a Chevy?

I bought mine (new) on July 1, and it had problems starting with "left drift"; and I bet I'm not alone here. Why is "after April" the date for the absence of problems?

Technole,

Did you mean to say "manufactured after April"? Don't forget, cars can sit for months before being adopted.

I agree "manufactured after April" would make more sense in this case. But how would I know when my car was manufactured? Is it stamped somewhere on the car or would I have to look-up the VIN number in some production date reference?

Yeah, my bad. I suppose where I am from the cars don't sit on the lots for that long.

Lemon Laws

Postby mmcdonald » Mon Sep 13, 2004 10:04 am

I think the lemon laws can cover the same issue three times, or chronic issues of any kind. I haven't practiced law in about 10 years, so I may be way off on this. But it is for sure worth checking out.

I think if the car has been in the shop for "x" number of days in "y" time period, then the car is eligible for lemon law.
Moved on to better things...
