unfortunately it is, otherwise id be fine with that, i love that truck, and its surprisingly cheap (for payments anyways)

its crazy how fast that truck is, i beat cars ALL THE TIME, ive only ever lost to a turbo 3 series and a turbo 350z... its actually about an inch shorter than my Solara, and its got a 266 horsepower V6 in it and 288 lb-ft torque
and its got a K&N in it... so thats supposed to bring it to 270-275 hp
weighing 4427 pounds

Well, something's bugging your dad if he justs up and tells you he's yanking the subs out and selling it right away. If you're truly cool with your dad he should give you a valid reason of why he's selling the Solara--whether it be his mood, you or finances. Also, as people pointed out, if you have a budget of up to $25k and you still like the 'Lara why don't you approach him about buying it? If he still says no then I would say your dad is definitely peeved about somethin'.

Hes had 2 excuses, one saying he dosent want to be a "sugar daddy" (buy our love, which he already tries to do and thinks its ok), and the other he claims he cant "afford the car" but we paid for the car cash, and if he were to sell anything it would be the 60 thousand dollar yukon sitting in the driveway, the DeLorean, the yacht, one of our other 5 boats, or the beach house

So, just an update.... my dad just called me (im at my moms house, parents are divorced, Solara has to stay at my dads house though) and he told me he dosent think i appreciate the car, and that i am "getting an attitude"

I dont know why he thinks that, because i take perfect care of the car, and haven't acted any different than i have before... honestly i think its influence from my step mom. but he said i cant use the car for "running around town" idk what else you would use it for... but he said were going to have a talk...

car hasnt been put on craigslist, but his computer also died the day he said he was going to, and hasnt fixed it yet

i know a guy that can take care of your step mom.

ok just kidding.

when i was in college my parents threatened to take my car away a few times. i deserved it though. the thing is that if they take it away its more of a hassle on them to have to plan for your transportation. good luck with everything man.

Does he know that you take the car to car meets? I don't know if that somehow influences his decision. When my parents learned that I went to car meets, they thought I was heading out to street racing like F&F.

ya he knows, hes ok with it because the car club associates with it, and ive got pics up of it on my facebook, and he sees that.

the only "attitude" thing i can think of is that hes started to get more strict about girls being in my room, even when i was 15 i could have girls in my room (not just girls, but my girlfriend) and he now wont let my current girlfriend in there now that im 18, and its a pretty legitimate reason to be in there because my room used to be our home theater, so obviously all my friends and stuff enjoy the 100 inch screen and JBL 7.1 surround sound, with 2 6 foot tall speakers in the front haha

please give me his number... lol

and hes not gonna drive me anywhere thats not benefitting him, i only do stuff with my girlfriend pretty much when i go out, so he knows she will drive me if i want to go out.

My dad is A LOT like Frank (jetbk), so he is more than okay with me having ladies in my room hahhahhahha.

I don't see anything wrong with ladies in the room, why would he see a problem with that? Its better than having men in the room.

Just don't forget the condoms and you are good to go, sex is a part of a relationship and it is the healthy thing to do.

My parents don't even care if I get a lady pregnant, they actually want that to happen (its a long story).

I think there is not a lot of people who are as mature as you are at your age, it is a rarity.

I can respect the fact that you couple are waiting till marriage 8)

As for me, that will probably be not the case hahha.

Don't fall for that "I-just-need-grandkids" trap!!! Yeah, your parents want grandkids at first and then later they want a daughter-in-law with a $110,000 wedding involving horse-drawn carriages, ceremonial doves and midget jugglers and when you need a babysitter to go kick it with your friends they're changing the locks and not returning your phone calls. Don't fall for it man!!

And I think wkbrdr91 should skip premarital sex and go straight to underage drinking for now--to quote Homer Simpson: "Here's to alcohol: the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems."

haha I used to drink, but my gf hates it, it really really bothers her, even if im not with her. and I promised her i wouldn't, so i wont anymore. plus im converting to a more specific branch of Christianity which strictly forbids drinking at all.... So no more alcohol for me!! lol
