Throttle Lag TSB is out

Postby Buckeyegirl » Fri Jul 01, 2005 5:42 am

I called my dealer to make an appointment to get the T.S.B. TC006-05 performed on my '04 Solora SE Sport, and they told me they only do this if the CEL is "on". Is this a crock or what?

Yes this is a crock. Here's what I sugggect you do:
- Go to a different dealer for service
- Don't even mention TSB TC006-05
- Tell the service manager you are having repeated problems with:
1. Dangerous throttle lag during heavy acceleration from a stop (like when trying to enter the highway)
2. Downshift lag when accelerating at speeds from 10 to 20 mph
3. Gear hunting when driving in heavy traffic (on & off the accelerator) at speeds of 20 to 30 mph

Let us know what happens.

Took my car in yesterday. Complained the transmission felt like it was slipping when in Stop & Go traffic on the F’Way and sometimes around town. Mentioned I did some research, and gave the service manager the TSB number. He said he would check it out and wrote down the TSB number. Went home and a few hours later they called and said my car was ready and performed the TSB. I do notice a difference, as it no longer hunts for gears, now when I tromp on the gas, no more hesitation. I’m happy… Gramps….

Good to hear that everyone who has had this done is happy with the results. My ride is in the shop today for the lag, sunroof and speaker TSB's.

Cant wait to get it back today. :)

UPDATE: I just got my car back from the dealership and the response is FRESH LIKE UUHH. I am content! :D

For any of you who no longer have warranty the cost of the job says: $67.50 (according to my sheet)

Man, is the ride different. I'm finding myself driving harder and therefore using my brake pads faster. Feels like a whole different car! The full power of that engine is now harnessed.

Of course you can still complain. I bought my 2004 car in Oct '03. The TSB is for all 2004 and 2005 models. Not sure if it includes 2006 too.

So I took "Big Red" in for the lag TSB. I spoke to the service manager before hand about my issue and they kept my car for about 4 hours due to the amount of vehicles they had in the service bay. Turns out my ride didn't pop up with any TSB's. I'll give you the rest of the story in my other thread about my new purchase.

Well I finally convinced the dealer to get the the car in, so I took it in today and the Service Writer says " do you really have a problem or do you just want to get the TSB done". I told him it was dangerous to pass etc. and further more it's been documented since day one every time I've brought the car in and was told this is the way Drive By Wire is and there is nothing they can do about it. The dealer knows I read things on this forum and that ticks them off.

I'll let you know how it performs when I get it back. Is there anyway I can tell if this has been done. After what the smart a_ _ Service Writer said he might try and pull a fast one.

Glad to hear people are having positive results with the TSB. I am going to have the work done when I take my car in for 6-7 other problems. Luckily, there are TSBs for all but one of the problems and I am going prepared so the dealer cannot argue with me.
Moved on to better things...

I had mine done and the car does feel different. They didnt give me a hard time about it like I thought they would. I told them I wanted the TSB applied and he quizzed me on what issues I was experiencing with the car. I am pretty sure if you tell them things like "lag" and "gear hunting" they can't just say you dont need it. Don't go in there just shouting TSB numbers, make sure you tell them why you need it.
