The same day my Lara bought me I called a friend of mine and he came out the next and installed a new garage door & opener for me. My dad & I built the garage 12 years ago and I never parked in it until the Lara. (True Love at it's finest).

Okay, but if I start parking in the garage where am I supposed to move the dang meth lab?

(Off-beat humor there again, people! Don't be PMing me about samples! :D )

Seriously, the Gen 2 Solaras are long, I can't parallel park worth a damn in it. And being so long, I have to have absolutely nothing between the garage wall and my bumper when I do park in the garage in order to close the garage door. I mean absolutely nothing, if I put so much as a broom on the wall my ass sticks out. (there's a joke somewhere in that last sentence)

Speaking of my bumper: I asked my insurance agent if I could file a claim and have them fix the bumper. He said sure but (always a frikken 'but') I would have to pay the bill first and then send them the receipt to get reimbursed. Screw dat! I would still have to come up with the money upfront and then have my premium increased next term? I don't think so. So I'm going to let my friend do it as planned and pay him cash and a 6-pack of Mickey's without the long-term damage of increased insurance rates.

I'm still waiting for the weather to get stabilized before getting the bumper repainted. Meanwhile, I pulled the trigger in getting a Colgan Bra just to hide the ugliness before the fix and maybe use it later for long hauls when I'm drafting 18-wheelers. It took 3 weeks after ordering for the bra to arrive but they charged my credit card within 12 hours of ordering it. I can't really say I would suggest a Colgan Bra for 3 reasons: 1) It pretty much hides the windswept details of the whole front bumper (especially the fangs on the Sport models) 2) the bra clamps that are used for attaching onto the side wheel wells are not secure enough to hold (I attached screws into the bumper to secure it) 3) because of the creased hood their needs to be airfoils to prevent flapping by the crease that just look too '80's-ish. Once I get the bumper repainted the bra will be strictly used for long rough trips. I know about the 3M film but, trust me, it won't protect against the divots Ohio roads throw at it.

If they need that kind of support, then it's time to trade-in on a firmer model! :D
