See - that's the key here... performance Convertible!
That's the only reason I would even consider looking at the Solara in the first place (not that there's anything wrong with the coupes) but seriously, if I was going to smack down $30K+ on a coupe I would have definitely looked around.
I like the styling on the Solara Convertible and was hoping the performance would be up there as well... or at least have some aftermarket options available like there was on the 3.0 V6 - but I didn't get it hoping to get a sports car either.
If I had the extra $20-30K to spend, I would have ended up with a BMW or Mercedes converitble sedan (non-2-seater convertible/roadster that is).
They don't make a convertible Accord.
They don't make a convertible Maxima.
The Solara convertible is the closest thing in the Japanese auto market to a BMW 650i or M3 or even a Mercedes CLK - but for the budget concious.
I think I'll eventually be saving my $$ something from the other side of the Atlantic for my next ride.
