Holy Crap - that cheeses me off!

Okay - so now we need to find some kind of retrofit Auto module for the All Up/Down button and give Toyota engineers the finger.

And while we're at it - why do the front windows come down about 1/2 way first when you select the All Up button? Doesn't matter if the top is up or down.

I believe that the front windows go down a bit first to ensure that the seal fits correclty (the one attached to the rear window). If they didn't come down, the seal wouldn't fit right.

Hmmm... that's prolly why there aren't any window controls in the back seat then eh?

Probably, but who cares about the people that sit in the back?

I wish the convertible had auto ALL up & down - seems they all go down okay but they take forever to roll back up!

Did I mention that I was really lazy?

I think it was posted but for emphasis... there is no auto up on the ragtop. At least in my manual it says "Coupe only" by that feature.

Apparently because they can't put a pinch sensor in the top... either way, it's just one more safety feature that I don't want/need. It's on my list of "things to bypass" so stay tuned to the Tutorials section. My dream is a relay for the lazy ragtop folk. one button tap - top goes up, pause 3 sec, windows roll up. Sweet. :P

Hey - that would be nice indeed.

My only concern might be that the clamps have to snap down manually too - will that be enough time do you think? I've found that I sometimes have to really give the top a yank-down to get the passenger side to clamp right.

Wish we had a hands-free top like BMW has had for years. I mean, after all - this isn't your typical rag-top sportscar! (Heck - I'd trade the hassle of the manual top clamps for some "sports car-like" performance!!) ;)

How about in the mean time a one-touch auto-up/down on the "All Up/Down" switch?

I just hate having to hold a button for the duration of windows/tops - it just seems silly.

Thanks - Keep us posted on your DIYs. You Rock!! :D

The relay block I'm looking at is programmable and I was still considering whether to make it separate auto-up top and "all wins". But I think the joint deal would be fine. As long as you have it clamped down in the time that it takes for the windows to get up... and worst case, you don't get it clamped in time and you have to drop the windows a touch to complete the clamp. Lots of EWD digging to go though so it's still very much vaporware. But how about a double tap set up where one touch does wins, two taps does both?
