if you put the same work u put into the avenger it'd be hot. lolz i hate choosing color of the car. White gets dirty easy, black is a biatch to get scratches out. I just get the color that has the biggest discount or deal :P

Postby JayDubz » Tue Apr 19, 2005 8:27 am

You should keep it and get the solara as well.. It would be tight to keep your car and get the new one.. Thats why I have to wait till this winter to get my new solara cuzz im gonna keep my galant...
In the long run it might be better for insurance.. as well.. And plus two fresh riders is always better than one!!!

Silver for sure.

Looks good all the time, even when a little dirty.

I love black cars but cannot take the let down of it looking dirty two hours

after spending hours cleaning it.

Just make sure you get a darker interior to match the silver.

I also like the special lexus white that is available for the Solara but the

only interior colour that was available was light tan. Again the interior

would look dirty even when clean. Even when brand new at the Dealership

they were marked to heck.

That is why I got Silver with Slate Leather because it looks presentable

most of the time even when it is a little dirty. :P :P :P :P

I had the same colour combo on my 2002 Camry XLE and it still looked

good after 3 years. :D :D :D :D

I like the silver idea. My last car was silver and it was very easy to take care of. Black leather interior is the way to go with silver. I am getting silver next time.

No black leather. Dark Stone is the closest. Looks good with the "Lunar Mist" tho. (Not as hot in the summer and doesn't look dusty/dirty.)

Agreed. That dark stone is the perfect interior color. Not too dark or too light. Doesn't get too hot in the summer like a black interior.

I know that the cosmic blue isn't even in the running but I just wanted to put my 2 cents in... Does anyone else think that the Lunar Mist is a little on the dull side? I thought the Accord's silver was much sharper.

At first, I told the dealership I absolutely wanted a Cosmic Blue. When I went over there, they had an Arctic Pearl on the lot and it was beautiful, and we started negotiating on THAT one. Well, I couldn't get them to the price I wanted (it all came down to the lousy $200 for the color! I just couldnt justify paying for paint), so then I went to another dealership, which had Lunar Mist. So then I wanted Lunar Mist. Everyone kept running out of those, though... So then the original dealership ended up having another Cosmic Blue in the SLE as I had wanted (with the Stone interior, I hated the tan), so i went with that. However every morning I see a red SE Sport and I think to myself Hmmmm... looks really nice. LOL. I guess we always want what we dont have!! Otherwise, it's a good color, I have been driving this car for 9 months now and STILL have not seen another Gen 2 in this color!!! So I like being unique :) :D

The Best Paint in the Industry.

No matter what colour you choose you get the best paint in the automotive industry.
Have a look at any other manufacturers paint. Even Mercedes E-Series
does not have it as good. The paint contains an eggshell appearance as do most other manufacturers. To get paint as nice as ours you have to move up to the S-Class which start at over $75,000.

Ask any good bodyshop and they will tell you Toyota/Lexus is the best paint you can get.

Look at most of the 10 year old Camrys running around. Their paint looks as good as the day it came off the assembly line.
So we are all winners no matter what colour.

Mike I.

Black or red

Postby silversurfer220 » Mon Apr 25, 2005 4:20 pm

If I could do it over again, my Solara would be black or red. Every car that I have owned, except for 1 has been black. I bought the silver because it was loaded the way I wanted it, and they kinda sorta cut me a deal on it. Now, I look at it and think BLAH. Lunar Mist is not my favorite color by any means.
