2004 Toyota Solara has a few kinks to work out.....

The Toyota dealer I go to is supposedly going to be building a dealership closer to the island. Who knows...

I do not know exactly what the dealer lubed but it is quieter. Still makes the same noise once in a while but at least it isn't every time I open/tilt the sunroof.

BTW, where on the island do your parents live?

Let me tell you what else I am dealing with right now! I picked my car up and brought it home. I started cleaning the interior and noticed knicks and scuffs on quiote a few interior pieces including the knob control for the seat, the fake tweeter on the door, and the passenger side dash which is the worst out the thhree. Part of the dash lost its luster as if someione rubbed sandpaper on it. I took it back to Toyota today and the service manger is ordering me all new parts along with the sunroff parts. These little annoyances are becoming a big headache with these people.

The service people need to do exactly what the makers do on the assembly line. Not wear any watches, rings, or anything that might put the slightest bit of damage to the vehicle while they are working on it.

There is a new TSB on the sunroof rubbing noise -- I saw it friday at work I believe it involved replacing the glass with a updated unit. I will look tomorrow and post the info!

You can find tsb's at alldata.com but they seem to be slow on posting new ones. I am a tech for a dealer in NC, we get new tsb's every monday. There is also a new tsb on the rear deck rattle some have complained about.

That's a huge place! My folks live on Knollwood Drive; I can't remember the subdivision but they are on one of the golf courses and near the main gate. How many homes are in HHP? Gotta be several thousand. They used to live in Rose Hill in Bluffton, but moved onto the island a few years ago.

They wound up buying a Vovlo Cross Country wagon; it isn't the XC90, I think it must be the S70. They aren't car people, but Dad at least appreciated the Beamers they had a few years ago.

They still want to charge you $25 a year to subscribe. I haven't seen any free sites that really tell you anything...they all want you to pay to really see the TSB. For free all you get is a summary of the problem.

Does any one know of an TRULY free sites to view TSBs?

Knollwood Drive?! We are moving onto that street in a month. The new house under construction is our house (well, my parents' house).

Yea, it is a huge neighborhood. Something like 5,000 people live in it.

I wish I had a scanner....... TSB NV008-04 moon roof rubbing/shuddering noise. 4 cylinder production change 4t1ce3#p#4u775817 6 cylinder 4t1ca3#9#4u002843 The tsb says to remove the glass and cycle the moon roof with the glass removed, if the noise goes away replace the glass with a new service part. If the noise does not go away do NOT replace the glass - the noise is in the frame and/or cables.
