The hardtop would not be a viable option being a Toyota. Yes, Mitsubishi did it with the 3000GT and the price for the VR-4 was $70,000!! I don't know how they got a way with it, but it didn't last long for a reason. The hydrolics and the compliocated enginering involved would inflate the price at least 20,000 more than what you pay for a a Solara. A hardtop would probably put a Toyota Solara in the 50-$60,000 range. In that case, you might as well slap a Lexus badge on it and say it's the SC 430s bigger brother.
