09 Solara ?

Postby Gangis » Sun Jan 20, 2008 10:11 am

The only real viable option left if you want to stick with the Japanese manufacturers is the Altima coupe. I must say, I really like that car. It's like the poor man's G35. :P Just FWD instead of RWD, but I've driven the V6 and it was excellent. 275hp I believe?

P.S. I don't count the Civic coupe. The Accord coupe, somewhat... but the new ones's kind of ugly compared to the last gen.

Solara (convertible) lives on!

Postby TCNO SOL » Wed Aug 13, 2008 4:25 pm

I'm usually a skeptic when I hear the "rumors" amongst the various internet forum boards (not Solaraguy.com of course), but as Edmunds.com has now reported, I'm thinking it's pretty official...

Looks like the Solara Convertible will live on for two more years! It just may be enough time for Toyota to create a Gen 3, methinks.

Thoughts?

Well, DUH! That was just about the dumbest comment I have heard.

Solara Convertible Surviving

Postby red2002solara » Tue Aug 19, 2008 8:35 am

I'm glad the Solara, at least the convertible, will survive another 2 years. Apparently there was still good demand to warrant continuing them. It would be nice if Toyota would change its mind during this two year time period and make a third gen Solara. But it usually takes four or five years to design, test, and release a new model for consumer sale. They will most likely end convertible production at the same time the new AE86 model comes out.

It sucks they stopped production on the solara, but they gotta do what they gotta do.

Solara convertibles are not very common where i am. I hardly see them.
