Solara Convertible Top Difficult to Close

I had this problem when I first bought mine too... passenger side was hard to close, so the dealer "adjusted" it. LOL!

After their "adjustments", it stuck up in the air and you could hear wind noise on the pass. side.

I decided to take a look at it and discovered it's easily adjusted without going through all the hassles the manual states.

Just use a crescent wrench and torque the "hook" latch clockwise to tighten it or counter-clockwise to loosen it. (righty-tighty/lefty-loosy) - works like a charm now!

Good advice! So exactly how did you adjust it to make it easier? Was it to loosen it so it slid in easier?

^^ Depends on your fit. If its too tight, then loosen it a turn or two. If one side is sticking up too high (as in my case) then tighten it a couple turns until it fits correctly.

Another question... When you say the hook latch, do you mean the pin that slides into the windshield frame or the latch that hooks down when you press the handle in? You probably mean the latter but I just want to be certain, thanks.

The hook thats attached to the top where the lever handles are. If you look closely at the base of them, you'll see they are threaded. I can't remember if there's a set screw on the side though so check that first.
